Private beta phase 2 of the EU Settlement Scheme
The HO has published its findings from the Private beta phase 2 of the EU Settlement Scheme, which had a much wider scope and higher uptake than the initial Pilot.
Stats from phase 2
- 29,987 applications were submitted from 1 November to 21 December 2018
- By 14 January 2019, 27,211 decisions had been made and issued
- 19,105 (70%) were granted settled status
- 2,925 were based on holding valid permanent residence (PR) or existing Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR)
- 8,106 (30%) were granted pre-settled status
- No applications were refused
- 81% of decided cases were processed within a week
- 69% of decided cases were processed in three working days
- 2,776 cases were awaiting a decision as at 14 January 2019, the majority of these were incomplete or awaiting further evidence.
Outcome of the first pilot (private beta 1)
- 1,053 people applied under the first phase of testing
- All have now been granted status under the scheme. Of these:
- 681 (65%) received settled status
- 372 (35%) received pre-settled status
- No cases were refused
